When we talk about glucose, we talk about blood sugar levels. Glucose is a carbohydrate, which is a fuel for our cells. Burning glucose leads to energy for our body. We don’t get glucose directly in our food, only after the digestion. You can eat glucose, but then it has a different name, namely grape sugar or dextrose.

High sugar blood levels are harmful!

A too high glucose level is harmful to us. A too high glucose level can lead to diabetes. There is something to explain here, since we now eat a lot more sugars and have started to move less. This leads to much more insulin being released as a signal, making our cells and insulin reptiles less sensitive to the insulin signals. This causes a lot more production of insulin, until the pancreas can no longer produce the large amount of insulin. This causes diseases such as diabetes type 2.

If insulin is constantly produced in your blood, this will lead to blockages, which in turn leads to heart disease. The plaque in your veins can also have consequences, which can lead to myocardial infarctions. The chance of cancer increases and your DNA can age. It is recommended to drink plenty of water so that you can bring your blood sugar level back to normal.

A low sugar blood level is dangerous!

Often the high sugar levels have long-term consequences. The low sugar levels relate to the short term. A low blood sugar level can be caused by not eating very little, heavy efforts, forgetting medication intake and too much alcohol.

The complaints also vary per person. The symptoms that can occur with a low blood sugar level are: dizziness, mood changes, palpitations, fainting, hungry, dizzy, restlessness, headaches and trembling. This is best avoided by getting sugar. This can be a soft drink, grape sugar or water / tea with sugar. It is also on time and regularly of great application in the prevention or recovery of a too low sugar blood level.

The number of sugar molecules differs. Carbohydrates such as sugar are converted into glucose after the digestion. The glucose ends up in our blood. In the process, the glucose is absorbed by the tissues so that they can be burned in the next phase.
