The Swiss Point of Care Extra is a CE0123-marked in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical device compliant with EN ISO 15197:2015. It is designed for straightforward daily use at home and is equally suited to professional settings including pharmacies and occupational health programmes.
Why this meter
Many glucose meters use GDH-PQQ enzyme technology, which can also react with sugars such as maltose, galactose, and xylose. This can lead to falsely elevated readings in specific situations.
The Swiss Point of Care Extra uses Glucose Oxidase (GOD) enzyme technology, which is glucose-specific. This helps support reliable glucose measurement.
Easy to use
No coding is required. Insert a test strip to turn the meter on, apply a drop of blood to the strip tip. Just 0.4 µL, one of the smallest drops required by any glucose meter. Read your result in 4 seconds. An audible signal confirms when the drop is sufficient, which reduces wasted strips. Re-dosing is possible within 3 seconds if needed. The meter accepts samples from the fingertip, forearm, and palm. No prior experience is needed. The system is designed for straightforward daily use.
Structured monitoring
The meter stores 300 results with date and time. Built-in averages for 7, 14, 30, 60, and 90 days help you spot patterns and adjust your routine with confidence. Up to 5 daily reminders can be set. Hypo, hyper, and ketone alert functions are included. Results can be transferred to a PC via USB data cable (cable not included).
