Comfortable, controlled lancing

The Swiss Point of Care Lancing Device is designed for comfortable blood sampling during glucose testing. 11 puncture depth settings allow you to find the setting that works best for your skin type: lower settings for delicate skin, mid-range for normal skin, and higher settings for calloused or thicker skin. A greater pressure of the device against the finger will also increase the effective puncture depth.

Alternative site testing

The included AST cap makes it possible to take blood samples from the forearm or palm in addition to the fingertip. The forearm and palm have fewer nerve endings than the fingertip, which some users find more comfortable. Fingertip sampling is recommended when blood glucose levels may be changing quickly, such as after a meal, after taking insulin, or after physical activity.

Safe and hygienic lancet handling

A built-in ejector button allows you to remove and discard the used lancet safely without touching the needle. Always use a new sterile lancet for each test. Do not share lancets with others.

Do not use a lancet if the protective safety tab is missing or loose when removed from the packaging.

Compatible with the Swiss Point of Care Extra system

The lancing device is designed for use with the Swiss Point of Care Extra Blood Glucose Monitoring System and is compatible with universal lancets.

Not included: sterile lancets.

How to use

1. Unscrew the lancing device cover. Insert a sterile lancet and push it in until it stops.

2. Hold the lancet firmly and twist off the safety tab. Save the safety tab for lancet disposal later.

3. Screw the cover back on firmly.

4. Adjust the puncture depth by rotating the cover. Start with the lowest setting that still produces an adequate drop of blood.

5. Pull the cocking barrel back until it clicks.

6. Clean the test site with an alcohol swab or wash it with soap and warm water. Dry thoroughly before testing.

7. Hold the lancing device firmly against the side of the fingertip and press the release button.

8. To discard the used lancet, slide the ejector forward, place the safety tab back onto the lancet, and dispose of it safely.

For forearm and palm testing, attach the AST cap and refer to the package insert for full alternative site testing instructions.

How to store

CARE AND CLEANING

- Clean the lancing device regularly using a soft cloth with mild soap and warm water

- Use 70% isopropyl alcohol to disinfect if needed

- Dry thoroughly after cleaning

- Do not immerse in liquid

- Store in a clean, dry place away from heat and direct sunlight

- Never share the lancing device with others
